భగవద్గీత ఒక సాధారణ గ్రంథం కాదు — అది శ్రీ కృష్ణ పరమాత్మ యొక్క శాశ్వత ఉపదేశం. అర్జునుడిని సాధనము గా చేసుకుని తద్ద్వారా సమస్త మానవజాతికి ప్రేమతో ప్రసాదించిన జ్ఞానం. అజ్ఞానాంధకారాన్ని తొలగించే పవిత్ర దీపంలా, గీత మన జీవితానికి ఒక దిక్సూచి. మనం ఇహ పరాలలో కూడా ఆనందం తో జీవించడం ఎటులనో బోధిస్తుంది.
అరణ్యంలో, లేక ప్రశాంత ఆశ్రమంలో కాకుండా — యుద్ధభూమి మధ్యన గీతోపదేశం జరిగింది. అంటే గీత కేవలం విశ్రాంత సమయం లో, లేక కర్తవ్యాలన్నీ పూర్తయిన తర్వాత చదవుకునే గ్రంథం కాదు, సంసారం లో ని అన్ని పనులు నిర్వర్తిస్తూనే, వాటిని ఇంకా చతురత తో నిర్వర్తించడం కోసం చదవవలసిన మార్గదర్శిగా మనము భావించాలి.
ఈ జ్ఞానానికి వయస్సు, వృత్తి, మతం, జాతి, ప్రాంతం, కాలం మొదలైన భేదాలు లేవు. సృష్టి లోని మనుష్యులు అందరూ గీత ని ఆశ్రయించవచ్చును.
విద్య కోరే విద్యార్థులకైనా, ఒత్తిడిలో ఉన్న ఉద్యోగులకైనా, సత్యాన్వేషకులకైనా — గీత ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ ఉపయోగపడే గ్రంథం.

పద్మ పురాణంలోని గీతా మహాత్మ్యం ద్వారా గీత మనకు లౌకికమైన కామ్యాలు మరియు మోక్షం రెండింటినీ ప్రసాదించగలదని తెలుస్తుంది.

ఆది శంకరాచార్యులు రచించిన భజ గోవిందంలో గీతా మహిమను ఇలా కొనియాడారు:
“భగవద్గీతా కించిత్ అధీతా”,
“గేయం గీతా నామ సహస్రం”
గీతను కొంచెమైనా అధ్యయనం చేయడం, మనిషిని పూర్తిగా మారుస్తుంది, మోక్షమార్గాన నడిపిస్తుంది.

మన ఆర్ష వాంగ్మయంలో ప్రత్యేక స్థానం పొంది, జయంతి ని జరుపుకునే ఏకైక గ్రంథం గీత.

అన్నిటిలోకన్నా గొప్పది శ్రీకృష్ణ పరమాత్మ స్వయంగా ఇచ్చిన అభయ వాక్యం:
“అహం త్వాం సర్వపాపేభ్యో మోక్షయిష్యామి”

“నా ఉపదేశాన్ని భక్తితో అనుసరించు, కర్మఫలాన్ని నాపై వదిలి పెట్టు; నేను నిన్ను సమస్త పాపాల నుండి విముక్తుడిని చేసి, జన్మ పరంపరల నుండి తప్పిస్తాను.”

ఈ నిత్యసత్య బోధనను ఈ తరానికి అందించేందుకు, యుగాలుగా ఋషులు, మునులు, గురువులు కొనసాగిస్తున్న గురు–శిష్య పరంపరను అనుసరిస్తూ, KCDT, పూజ్య గురు దంపతుల మార్గదర్శకత్వంలో పాలమూరు, తెలంగాణలో గీతా జయంతి మహోత్సవాలను నిర్వహింపబడుతున్నాయి.
ఈ పుణ్యసందర్భంగా గురువుగారు భగవద్గీత మహాత్మ్యాన్ని, దాని దివ్యజ్ఞానాన్న మన దైనందిన జీవితంలో ఎలా అలవరచుకోవాలో విశదంగా ప్రసంగించబోతున్నారు.

The Bhagavad Gītā is not merely a scripture — it is the śāśvata upadeśa of Sri Krishna Paramātma, lovingly given to all humankind through Arjuna as His chosen medium. Like a sacred lamp dispelling the darkness of confusion, the Gītā stands as the manual of human life, showing us how to live with harmony, purpose, and the bliss of iha(worldly) and para ānanda(liberation).

Revealed not in a quiet forest, nor in a peaceful ashram, but in the very midst of the battlefield, the Gītā is a guide for life as it is — to be studied not after duties are over, but while we stand in the arena of responsibilities, challenges, and decisions. Its wisdom belongs to everyone — transcending age, profession, religion, caste, region, and time.
From students seeking clarity, to professionals balancing work and stress, to seekers yearning for truth — the Gītā is a companion for every soul.

From the Padma Purāṇa’s Gītā-māhātmya, we learn that the Gītā is capable of granting both material well-being and moksha. Its verses are a doorway to prosperity, peace, and liberation.
Adi Shankaracharya extols its greatness in Bhaja Govindam, declaring:

bhagavad-gītā kiñcid adhītā
gēyaṁ gītā-nāmā-sahasram

A little study of the Gītā, and the chanting of the Gītā, can uplift and transform a person entirely and lead them to Moksha.

So unique is this scripture that it alone among our Arsha Vangmaya has a sacred day marking it — Gītā-jayanthi — reminding us of its importance. But above all, shining brighter than all its teachings, is the abhaya given by the Lord Himself — a promise unmatched in any scripture on earth:

ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi

“Follow My teaching with faith, devotion and leave the karma phala to me, and I shall liberate you from all sins and free you from the cycle of birth and death.”

To carry forward these timeless teachings into our generation — just as the Rishis, Munis, and Gurus have lovingly done through the guru-sishya paramparā since time immemorial — KCDT, under the guidance of Pujya Guru Dampathi, will be conducting Gītā-jayanthi celebrations in Palamuru, Telangana. During this auspicious event, Guruvugaru will speak in great detail about the importance of the Bhagavad Gītā and how each of us can apply its divine wisdom in our daily lives.
