SRIMAD BHAGAWAD GITA CHAPTER 15 “puruṣōttamaprāptiyōgaḥ”

“adhaśchōrdhvaṃ prasṛtāstasya śākhā guṇapravṛddhā viṣayapravālāḥ।

adhaścha mūlānyanusantatāni karmānubandhīni manuṣyalōkē “॥ 2 ॥

In contrast to the Aswatha tree as explained in sloka one, this samsara tree’s qualities are quite opposite. The branches of the tree are due to Trigunas, the buds are of Shrotra, sparsha, grahana (senses). And these are spread over in all the Lokas i.e. Bhuloka to Brahmaloka. The Roots are of Karma related traces and strongly spread over and very Deeply. This Samsara Tree is not a small in nature and its very vast, in existence from time immemorial, and with strong roots spread over in all directions. It is pertinent that for this samsara tree, the past janma traces, effect of Trigunas, our ambitious desires are the main reasons and the resultant shad ripus.

In the next 2 slokas, Sri Krishna Bhagawan is bringing out as to how to cut this Strong Samsara Tree and search for Paramatma.
